Alcorn County Authorities Seize Illegal Substances in Truck Stop Raid, Owner Charged

The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office has charged the owner of a local truck stop following an undercover investigation into the illegal sale of substances banned under county ordinance and state law.

Authorities conducted a search warrant on April 10, 2025, at the 45 Truck Stop on Highway 45 South, where they seized thousands of products containing Kratom and Tianeptine—substances known to mimic the effects of opioids and deemed highly addictive.

Among the items confiscated were over 2,000 bottles and packets of Kratom products and 27 bottles (405 dosage units) of ZaZa White, which contains Tianeptine, a Schedule I Controlled Substance in Mississippi. Additionally, more than 3,500 tablets of Sildenafil (Viagra) were also seized.

Clerks on-site were issued citations. On April 29, the store’s owner, Adel Ahmed Bader, turned himself in and was charged with possession of a counterfeit substance with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on bond pending a Grand Jury hearing.

The investigation was assisted by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the FDA, with additional charges possible as the case develops.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized its ongoing commitment to cracking down on illegal substance sales in the community.
