Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter Seeks Emergency Help for Injured Kitten Thrown from Moving Vehicle

Corinth, Miss. – August 2025 – The Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter is calling on the community for urgent help after a heartbreaking case involving a kitten named JC, who survived a traumatic act of cruelty.

According to shelter staff, witnesses saw JC and his sibling being thrown from a moving vehicle on a local highway. Tragically, JC’s sibling did not survive the impact. JC, however, miraculously lived—though he sustained devastating injuries, including a shattered front leg that now requires amputation to save his life.

“JC is only a baby, and he’s already fighting so hard to survive,” shelter officials wrote in a public appeal. “He has endured more than most will in a lifetime.”

The shelter is seeking to raise $300 to cover the cost of JC’s surgery. The goal is to provide him with a second chance at life—one filled with the safety, love, and care he deserves.

“This is not just about medical treatment,” the shelter added. “It’s about showing JC that compassion and kindness still exist.”
