Corinth Police Pursuit Ends with Armed Suspect Accidentally Shooting Himself
Corinth, MS — A vehicle pursuit in Corinth ended with an unexpected twist Tuesday morning when a suspect accidentally shot himself while fleeing from police.
Around 8:25 a.m., Corinth Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle reported stolen the night before. The driver refused to pull over, leading officers on a pursuit that ended near Horton Circle.
As the suspects exited the vehicle, the passenger — armed with a pistol — unintentionally discharged the weapon, striking himself in the leg. Emergency medical services were called to the scene to treat the injured suspect.
No officers discharged their weapons during the incident.
Corinth Police are expected to provide a full statement later today following the completion of the initial investigation.
