Arctic Air to Bring Bitter Cold to Memphis Area, NWS Warns

The National Weather Service in Memphis warns residents of a sharp cold front expected to sweep through the area overnight. While temperatures are already chilly this morning, the cold will intensify tomorrow morning as arctic air moves in.

Forecasters predict wind chill values could drop into the single digits and lower teens, creating dangerous conditions. Officials advise residents to protect the four P’s: people, pets, pipes, and plants.

The NWS recommends dressing warmly, limiting time outdoors, and ensuring vulnerable items like pipes are insulated to prevent damage during the cold snap.
