Lafayette County Offers MREs and Water Distribution Amid Supply Shortages

Lafayette County is distributing meals and water to residents in need today. The distribution is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at several locations, with supplies available while they last, according to county officials.

Each person is limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure broader access. The distribution sites include the Harmontown sheriff’s office substation, Lafayette High School, Lafayette County Fire Station 3, and Oasis Church. In the city of Oxford, supplies are available at City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson Thacker at Garden Terrace, and other designated sites.

The county has emphasized that the distribution is being staffed by National Guard personnel working to serve the community. Officials ask residents to be patient and courteous, as supplies are limited and distribution will continue until they run out.
