MDWFP Chief of Law Enforcement earns patriotic employer award

Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Chief of Law Enforcement Col. Jerry Carter has been recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense office.

The ESGR Patriotic Employer Award honors supervisors and leaders who demonstrate strong support for Guard and Reserve members through flexible policies, understanding military responsibilities, and maintaining open communication, according to ESGR.

Carter was nominated by Sergeant Major Larry Primeaux of the Army National Guard, who also serves with MDWFP’s Law Enforcement K-9 Unit. The award recognizes Carter’s support of Primeaux, who serves in the U.S. Armed Forces Guard and Reserve.
