Mid-South braces for strong winds Sunday into Sunday night

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, has issued a wind advisory for the Mid-South region. Forecasters expect sustained winds of more than 20 miles per hour, with gusts exceeding 40 mph, starting Sunday and continuing into Sunday night.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor items that could be blown over or damaged by the gusty winds. Authorities recommend tying down or otherwise securing loose objects to prevent hazards.

The strong winds are part of an approaching weather system that could impact travel and outdoor activities. Officials urge residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions to stay safe.
