Mississippi Adult Education Leaders Collaborate on Workforce Development
Laurie Kesler, director of Adult Education at Northeast Mississippi Community College, and Kim Smith, assistant director, traveled to Jackson this week to collaborate with program directors from across Mississippi.
The pair discussed the Five Pillars of America’s Talent Strategy and their implications for workforce development and adult education, according to a news release from the college.
The Mississippi Office of Adult Education provided insights during the discussions about innovative approaches to help students develop skills for current and future jobs, the release said.
On the same day, state staff and local program directors gathered at the Mississippi Capitol to advocate for adult education. They highlighted the work being done across the state and thanked legislators for their ongoing support.
NEMCC Adult Education expressed appreciation for the backing of President Ricky Ford, as well as support from state and local representatives, the release added.
