Spring fishing season is underway in Mississippi, and a new record has been set at Mary Crawford State Lake, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
John Berry caught a crappie weighing 3.25 pounds, breaking the previous lake record. The department congratulated Berry on the achievement.
The department encourages anglers to continue practicing responsible fishing and to enjoy the season responsibly.
