Mississippi authorities seize $1 million worth of narcotics, arrest two in Jackson and Brandon

Mississippi law enforcement officers arrested two people following a narcotics investigation in Jackson and Brandon. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, with help from the Capitol Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and Jackson Police Department, executed search warrants on Wednesday.

Authorities served warrants at two residences in Jackson and one in Brandon. They seized more than 146 pounds of methamphetamine, 7 pounds of fentanyl powder, 65,000 fentanyl pills, 2.2 ounces of crack cocaine, and 4.4 pounds of powder cocaine. Officers also recovered six firearms, including rifles and pistols, three vehicles, two Rolex watches valued at approximately $42,000, and $23,299 in cash.

Sean Antonio King, 49, and Latonya Hopson King, 50, were taken into custody during the operation. Authorities identified Sean King as a multi-drug distributor operating in the region. Both are facing multiple charges, including drug trafficking and firearm possession.

Latonya King faces charges of aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and powder cocaine while in possession of a firearm, as well as possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. Sean King is charged with similar drug trafficking offenses, along with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials said they are following additional leads. Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell praised law enforcement efforts, emphasizing the department’s commitment to community safety and drug enforcement.
