Mississippi Continues Winter Storm Recovery Efforts in January 2026
Volunteer groups such as Convoy of Hope, Samaritan’s Purse, Mennonite volunteer electricians, faith-based rebuilding organizations, and Long-Term Recovery Committees continue to assist storm survivors in Mississippi, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
Individuals still in need of help are advised to contact their local county emergency management directors for guidance and assistance, the agency said.
Public assistance has been approved for 38 counties impacted by the severe winter weather from Jan. 23 to 27. Forty-four counties are eligible for aid across all categories, from A to G, including Adams, Alcorn, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, and Claiborne, among others, the agency added.
