Mississippi Department of Revenue Holds Workshops for Homestead Exemption Season
The Mississippi Department of Revenue recently hosted its annual workshops to train county officials for the upcoming homestead exemption season, which runs from January 1 to April 1.
Department staff provided detailed instruction, updates, and hands-on guidance to those involved in the process, including tax assessors, homestead clerks, chancery clerks, and deputy clerks.
This year, DOR hosted four in-person workshops and one virtual session to ensure accessibility and flexibility for participants. The training aims to support county officials in managing the homestead exemption process effectively.
Officials and staff praised the efforts, emphasizing the department’s commitment to assisting counties across Mississippi. The workshops are part of DOR’s ongoing effort to streamline property tax exemptions and improve service delivery.
