Mississippi Driver Services Stations Closed or Delayed Due to Winter Weather

Due to winter weather affecting the state, Mississippi’s Northern and Central Driver Services Stations will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2026, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

Southern Region locations will open with a delayed start at 10 a.m., the department said. Authorities advise residents to monitor updates as conditions evolve.

Commissioner Sean Tindell emphasized safety, urging people to stay home, stay warm, and avoid travel if possible. “Winter weather has impacted central and north Mississippi,” Tindell said. “We are taking precautions to protect our employees while continuing essential services, and keeping everyone safe as our top priority.”

The department also expressed gratitude for first responders and frontline workers assisting during the storm. Officials continue to monitor weather conditions and will provide updates as necessary.
