Mississippi hosts Teen CERT Challenge for students statewide
The Mississippi Office of Homeland Security hosted its latest Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Challenge on Tuesday. The event brought together more than 360 students from across the state.
Participants engaged in hands-on activities focused on emergency response skills, teamwork, and leadership development. The goal is to prepare the next generation to serve in emergency situations, officials said.
Organizers expressed pride in seeing students step up and learn valuable skills that could help their communities in times of crisis. The event continues Mississippi’s efforts to promote emergency preparedness among youth.
