Mississippi man sentenced to 10 years in drug trafficking case
Derrick Lerenzo Denman was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine in Lee County, Mississippi. The case was heard in the First Circuit Court before Judge John R. White.
On February 12, 2026, Denman agreed to a plea deal that resulted in a 40-year sentence, with 30 years suspended. He will serve the remaining 10 years without the possibility of parole or early release. After his release, he will be required to complete five years of post-release supervision, according to court records.
The investigation into Denman’s criminal activities was conducted by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Authorities credited their efforts for uncovering the narcotics distribution network in the district.
