Mississippi taxpayers must update address after moving, Department of Revenue says

Mississippi residents who move after filing their income tax returns must notify the Department of Revenue of their new address, according to state officials.

The department offers three ways to update address information. Taxpayers can do so through their Tax Administration (TAP) account by selecting “More Actions,” viewing “Registration and Applications,” clicking “Manage Names and Addresses,” and updating the address on the “Address” tab. Alternatively, they can email updates to customerservice@dor.ms.gov or send a letter to the Individual Income Tax Division at P.O. Box 1033, Jackson, Mississippi, 39215-1033.

When notifying the department via email or mail, individuals are advised to include their name, old address, new address, the last four digits of their Social Security number, and a contact number. More information about updating addresses and frequently asked questions can be found on the department’s website.

To access or register for a TAP account, visit tap.dor.ms.gov. For additional details about individual income tax, residents can visit the department’s website at https://www.dor.ms.gov/individual/individual-income-tax-frequently-asked-questions.
