Mississippi wildlife agency receives second Pig Brig Net trap system
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks announced the donation of a second Pig Brig Net trap system for Nanih Waiya Wildlife Management Area. The gift was provided by Outdoor Neshoba, supporting ongoing trapping operations across state wildlife management areas.
Net trap systems are lightweight, passive traps that do not require cell service to operate. This feature makes them ideal for remote locations like Nanih Waiya WMA, where cell coverage is limited. The systems enable MDWFP to trap in areas where larger, heavier metal traps are difficult or impossible to transport.
MDWFP expressed gratitude to Outdoor Neshoba for their continued contributions to wild hog management efforts in Mississippi. The agency noted that the new traps will enhance their ability to control feral hog populations across the state.
