National Weather Service Memphis Warns of Flash Flood Risks

The National Weather Service in Memphis issued a warning about flash flooding as part of the #MSSWPW2026 campaign.

The agency cautioned that when water flows over a roadway, it can be difficult to determine its depth. Just six inches of fast-moving water can knock over and carry away an adult, officials said.

Residents are advised to exercise caution during heavy rainfall and avoid flooded roads to stay safe, according to the NWS Memphis.
