National Weather Service warns of flash flood risk in Mississippi

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for much of Mississippi, covering the period from Monday through Tuesday night, June 15-16, 2026.

The agency warns that residents could experience flash flooding, with some roads potentially flooded or closed. Structures in vulnerable areas may also face inundation risks, the weather service said.

Officials advise residents to stay weather aware and identify alternate routes in case of flooded roads. The message includes a reminder to practice safety by turning around and not drowning when encountering flooded roadways.

Local authorities and the weather service continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
