NEMCC to reopen Feb. 2 after week-long closure

North East Mississippi Community College will remain closed through the rest of the week and reopen on Monday, Feb. 2, according to college officials.

Dormitory residents may return to campus. Students are instructed to check in with their dorm proctor upon arrival and complete a dorm information form to confirm their safety, college spokespersons said.

Current cafeteria hours are 8 to 9 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch, and 4 to 5 p.m. for dinner, officials added. The Burgess Fitness Center remains open to students and community members during this time.

College officials urged students and staff to continue practicing safety precautions and to look out for one another, ending with a message of encouragement for the campus community.
