Ashley Schmidt, a sophomore Medical Laboratory Technology student at Northeast Community College in Okolona, has been named the recipient of the Lois B. Jones and David R. Pace Memorial Scholarship from the Mississippi-Louisiana chapter of the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science.
The scholarship recognizes her achievements and potential in the field of clinical laboratory science, according to the chapter.
Schmidt plans to begin working as a medical laboratory technician and continue her education this fall at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, the chapter said.
The chapter expressed pride in Schmidt’s accomplishments and her future career plans.
