Percy Quin State Park boat ramp reopens after flooding cleanup

The boat ramp at Percy Quin State Park in McComb, Mississippi, reopened on Jan. 22 after being closed since Jan. 13, due to flooding and debris. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks said invasive aquatic plants had accumulated around the ramp, making it inaccessible for boaters and anglers.

MDWFP staff have spent the past week removing the aquatic vegetation to restore access. The department encourages the public to visit its website for information on fishing lakes across Mississippi. More details are available at https://www.mdwfp.com/fishing-boating/lakes.

Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining safe and accessible boating facilities and thanked the public for their patience during the cleanup effort.
