Severe weather is forecast to impact the Memphis area Wednesday, with timing adjustments from previous predictions, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.
Storms are expected to begin arriving in northeast Arkansas during the predawn hours. The main line of storms is projected to reach the Memphis metro area in the mid to late morning, the weather service said.
It will take longer for the storms to clear northern Mississippi, where conditions could become more favorable for tornado development in the afternoon. The National Weather Service noted that a strong tornado, rated EF2 or higher, cannot be ruled out.
Residents are advised to stay alert and monitor official updates as the weather system moves through the region.
