The Alcorn School District responded to a safety concern at Alcorn Central High School after receiving a tip about a vehicle entering campus, according to district officials.
School and district personnel quickly arrived on the scene and approached the vehicle as it entered school grounds. The vehicle was searched, and a handgun was discovered inside, authorities said.
The firearm was immediately confiscated, and the student was taken into custody by the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department. Officials described the incident as isolated and emphasized that it is now a law enforcement matter.
