Two Arrested in Prentiss County on Meth Charges

Prentiss County deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on County Road 7301 on Feb. 23, 2026, according to officials.

Heather McVey, 41, of Booneville, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. James Davis Jr., 62, of Blackland, was also taken into custody and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.

North Mississippi Narcotics Agent Grady Smith will present the cases to the next grand jury, authorities said. Prentiss County Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop set McVey’s bond at $5,000 and Davis’s bond at $15,000.

Deputies Ridge Lawson and Jordan Bell assisted with the arrests, officials added.
