Waterfowl hunts limited to pre-drawn hunters due to weather concerns
Waterfowl draw hunts at Charlie Capps, Howard Miller, Muscadine, Mahannah, Trim Cane, and Tuscumbia wildlife management areas will be limited to pre-drawn hunters and their parties on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 26, due to uncertain and potentially hazardous weather and travel conditions, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
There will be no stand-by opportunities on these areas on the specified dates. Pre-drawn hunters are required to check in and out using either the MDWFP HuntFish app or paper WMA user cards. All other regulations for the designated areas remain in effect.
The department advised hunters to stay informed about weather updates and to plan accordingly for safety during the upcoming hunts.
