Hattiesburg Zoo Announces Gender of Baby Hyena
It’s a boy!
Hattiesburg Zoo announced the gender of its new baby hyena, born on September 25th.
According to a press release from Hattiesburg Zoo, the male hyena cub was born to parents Pili and Niru. At present, the cub has not been named, but the zoo staff has several names they are considering.
The cub’s mother, Pili, has had two female cubs prior to this new baby.
Zoo officials have stated that the cub has met his big sister, Cazi, which was a successful encounter. He has also begun the process of being introduced to his father, Niru. He can be seen by zoo guests at his outdoor enclosure.
