Natchez man arrested in semi-truck arson investigation, faces additional drug charges
NATCHEZ, Miss. — A Natchez man has been arrested in connection with the intentional burning of a commercial semi-truck last fall, an investigation that also led to multiple felony drug charges, authorities said.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten announced that Troy Anthony Leake Sr., 45, was taken into custody earlier this week at a residence on Fox Glen Circle. Leake was arrested on an active warrant charging him with third-degree arson involving personal property.
Investigators with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said the charge stems from an incident in early November 2025 in which Leake allegedly set fire to a 2004 Peterbilt semi-truck. The vehicle, parked at a residence on Steamplant Road in Natchez, was declared a total loss.
Sheriff Patten said the destruction of the commercial vehicle represented a significant financial loss and posed a potential danger to the public.
During Leake’s arrest, deputies reported finding suspected controlled substances. A follow-up investigation involving a K-9 officer resulted in additional charges, including three counts of controlled substance violations involving methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and a substance known as “Mojo,” as well as one count of introducing contraband into a county correctional facility.
Leake was booked into the Adams County Detention Center and is being held without bond pending an initial appearance before an Adams County Justice Court judge.
Authorities emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
