Private Holly Springs Prison Experiencing COVID-19 Outbreak
A privately-owned prison in Holly Springs has been placed under a mandatory two-week quarantine after multiple inmates tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Marshall County Correctional Facility is reporting over fifty individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, which is well above the three-person minimum that constitutes an outbreak.
The facility stated that 109 inmates were tested over the past week after contact tracing was conducted from three prior positive tests.
MDOC Commissioner Burl Cain stated that the prison will have their mandatory quarantine extended by an additional 14 days with every additional positive test that follows.
