Tupelo Police Make Arrest on Woman for Not Returning Rental Property to Best Way

Tupelo, MS — July 1, 2024

Traci D. Franklin, a 52-year-old resident of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department on June 28, 2024, following the issuance of a Lee County Circuit Court Capias Warrant. Franklin faces charges of Embezzlement Under Contract, Rental, in connection with an incident involving Best Way Rent to Own in 2023.

The warrant was issued based on a report filed last year, alleging that Franklin failed to return rental property to Best Way Rent to Own as per the contract agreement. At the time of the capias issuance, Franklin was detained and held on a $10,000 bond set by the Lee County Circuit Court.

The case is now pending trial in Lee County Circuit Court, where Franklin will face the charges brought against her. Further details regarding the case and upcoming legal proceedings have yet to be disclosed.
