Quadruple Murder Suspect Austin Drummond Arrested in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. (Aug. 5, 2025) – A manhunt that gripped the Mid-South has come to an end. Fugitive Austin Drummond, one of Tennessee’s Most Wanted, was captured Monday night in Jackson, law enforcement officials confirmed.
Drummond, 28, was wanted in connection to a horrific quadruple homicide in Dyer County, Tennessee. The victims — members of a local family — were found dead in their home last week. Drummond faced multiple felony charges including first-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping.
After days on the run, federal investigators believed Drummond had fled the state. A reward of up to $37,000 was offered for information leading to his arrest, combining contributions from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
Authorities did not immediately release the circumstances surrounding his capture, but they confirmed he was taken into custody without incident in Jackson, Tennessee — a city where he was last seen and where officials had urged the public to remain alert.
The TBI expressed gratitude to the community for their vigilance during the search. “We thank the public for staying alert and sharing information,” officials said in a statement.
Drummond has a criminal history that includes prior arrests for violent offenses, and authorities had warned the public that he was considered armed and dangerous.
He is expected to be extradited to Dyer County, where he will face formal arraignment in the coming days.
This is a developing story. More details will be released as they become available.
