Mississippi health officials to offer free Tdap vaccines and vital records in Lincoln County
The Mississippi State Department of Health is offering free Tdap vaccines and birth certificates to residents impacted by last week’s tornadoes in Lincoln, Lamar, and Franklin counties, according to a news release.
The event will be held at the Lincoln County Safe Room, located at 1154 Beltline Drive in Brookhaven, on Wednesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The American Red Cross will also be on site with resources for storm-affected residents.
Residents and first responders ages 19 and older in the impacted areas are eligible to receive the free Tdap vaccination, regardless of insurance status. Health officials recommend a booster if it has been 10 years or more since the last dose.
Storm safety tips are available at msdh.ms.gov/afterstorm. People are encouraged to stay updated through the MSDH Healthy Mobile App and the department’s website.
