Booneville man sentenced to 12 years for fondling charge, officials say
BOONEVILLE, Miss. — A Booneville man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to a fondling charge, according to a press release from local authorities.
Michael Leroy Mace, 44, entered his guilty plea on Jan. 8, 2026, and was sentenced Monday, Jan. 12. Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. accepted the plea and ordered Mace to serve 12 years, with an additional three years suspended, followed by three years of post-release supervision, the release said.
Officials said the sentence is to be served day-for-day, meaning Mace is not eligible for parole or early release. Mace is also required to register as a sex offender.
The Booneville Police Department investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney Joel Baldwin prosecuted the case on behalf of the state, the release said.
