Mississippi Lt. Governror reports 2nd coronavirus case in state
Mississippi Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann reported the 2nd case of coronavirus in the state on Friday.
Hosemann told the state Senate that state health officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs informed him last night that a second person tested positive for coronavirus in Hattiesburg.
This comes after the first case was reported on Thursday.
The MSDH has not issued a statement regarding Hosemann’s information about the 2nd case.
The first case was a Forrest county adult male who recently traveled to Florida. After confirmation by the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory, the patient voluntarily isolated himself at home to prevent further transmission to others. The patient was not hospitalized.
