Corinth Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Prentiss County
PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. — A Corinth man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop on Friday, August 1, 2025, led to his arrest.
According to the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy N’shaun Cameron conducted the stop on Highway 45 South near the West Chambers Drive overpass, with assistance from Deputy Ethan Hester.
The driver, 50-year-old Brian Akers, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance along with several misdemeanor offenses. Authorities also discovered Akers had an active capias warrant for a previous drug possession charge.
Judge Craig Bishop set bond at $10,000 for the new possession charge. The case will be presented to a Prentiss County Grand Jury by North Mississippi Narcotics Unit Agent Taylor Walker.
