Residents of the Capitol Complex Improvement District can now apply to participate in the 2026 Spring Citizens Police Academy, according to a news release from Capitol Police.
The program runs from April 20 to April 28 and offers participants an inside look at various police operations. Activities include driver simulation training, a K-9 demonstration, forensic crime scene investigations, and ride-alongs with officers, the release said.
The deadline to apply is April 15. Space is limited, and interested residents are encouraged to apply online at dps.ms.gov under the Capitol Police tab, the agency said.
