Community residents urged to report winter storm damage to aid FEMA assistance

Emergency officials are urging residents who experienced damage during the recent winter weather to use the Self-Report Damage Tool to document their losses. The reports are crucial for building a case to request FEMA Individual Assistance, which is not available at this time, according to authorities.

Officials emphasize that the number of damage reports received plays a key role in advocating for federal aid. Residents are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete the online form at https://www.msema.org/report-damage. Every report counts, officials say.

The agency has also released a short instructional video to guide residents through the reporting process. Community members are thanked for their participation in helping secure additional resources for recovery efforts.
