Deputy finds firearm during traffic stop in Prentiss County
Deputy Ethan Hester pulled over a vehicle on County Road 4140 on Jan. 13, 2026, according to the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Office.
During the stop, Deputy Hester discovered a firearm inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as Ryan Conley Coltrain, 35, of New Site, was detained.
It was determined that Coltrain is a convicted felon. He was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Jan. 14, 2026.
Judge Craig Bishop set Coltrain’s bond at $2,500. Investigator Aaron Stolz is handling the case and plans to present it to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.
