Extreme drought returns to parts of eastern Arkansas amid dry conditions
Extended dry weather has caused the return of extreme (D3) drought conditions in parts of eastern Arkansas, according to recent reports. Other areas are experiencing severe (D2) and moderate (D1) drought levels, the National Weather Service said.
Officials noted that long-range weather models indicate a strong likelihood of heavy rainfall late next week. This precipitation is expected to improve or end all current drought conditions by the end of April, the agency added.
Residents and farmers are advised to monitor updates and drought status at the National Weather Service’s drought information page: https://www.weather.gov/MEG/DroughtInformationStatement.
