Heatwave Continues in Mid-South with Excessive Temperatures

A heatwave is expected to persist through Tuesday in the Mid-South, with heat indices exceeding 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee.

An Extreme Heat Warning for temperatures of 110 degrees or higher will be in effect for the Delta region. A Heat Advisory for temperatures of 105 degrees or higher has been issued for the rest of the Mid-South.

The warnings are in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 9 p.m. that evening, urging residents to take precautions against the dangerous heat.

Officials recommend staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous outdoor activities, and checking on vulnerable populations during the period of extreme heat.
