Man sentenced to 20 years for oxycodone possession in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss. — A circuit court judge has sentenced Reginald Denman to 20 years in prison for possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, according to court records.
Judge Kelly L. Mims also suspended 10 years of the sentence. Denman received an additional 10-year suspended sentence for a felony fleeing charge. He will be under five years of post-release supervision once released from prison, court documents show.
The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit investigated the case, with assistance from the Tupelo Police Department. The District Attorney’s Office praised the narcotics unit for their efforts in combating drug trafficking in the area, according to a news release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan French on behalf of the state of Mississippi. Jason D. Herring is the district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, the release states.
