Mississippi Emergency Management, National Guard Continue Disaster Relief Efforts

Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and the Mississippi National Guard are continuing relief efforts in impacted counties. On Tuesday, they delivered 96,000 bottles of water, 1,152 meals, 14,000 tarps, 976 blankets, and 288 cots, according to officials.

Chinook helicopters from the Mississippi National Guard are actively transporting supplies to affected areas. More than 119,000 pounds of supplies have been delivered by helicopter since operations began, officials said.

Local county officials are distributing the supplies to residents at various community distribution sites. Authorities emphasize that these efforts are ongoing as recovery continues in the region.
