Mississippi extends tax deadline for 49 counties to March 2026
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves signed a proclamation extending the deadline for residents in 49 counties to submit ad valorem taxes. The new deadline is March 3, 2026, according to the governor’s office.
The extension applies to counties affected by recent events, including Adams, Alcorn, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, Desoto, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Itawamba, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leake, Leflore, Lowndes, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Newton, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Smith, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Warren, Washington, Webster, Wilkinson, Yalobusha and Yazoo.
The proclamation also delays fines for late payments during this period, providing relief to residents impacted by the circumstances prompting the extension.
