Mississippi opens applications for Pelahatchie Bay alligator season
Mississippi wildlife officials announced that applications for the Pelahatchie Bay alligator season will open Monday, Feb. 2, and close Friday, Feb. 13.
The applications will be entered into a random drawing to allocate permits for the season. Unlike the regular alligator season, the Pelahatchie Bay hunt requires two applicants per permit. Both applicants must submit the application and, if selected, hunt together in the same hunting party.
To qualify, applicants must be Mississippi residents and at least 16 years old. Nonresidents holding a Mississippi Lifetime License are also eligible to apply.
