Mississippi to Open Waterfowl Season for Youth, Veteran, and Military Hunters This Weekend
All Wildlife Management Areas across Mississippi will open for waterfowl hunting on February 7 and 8, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
The agency said the weekend is designated for youth, veterans, and active military members. All WMAs with waterfowl hunting opportunities will be open during these two days.
Waterfowl regulations and bag limits will remain the same as during the regular season. The event is first come, first served, with no drawings required, officials said.
Hunters are encouraged to check the department’s website to locate WMAs near them. The site provides details on waterfowl hunting opportunities across the state.
