Mississippi wild turkey season set to open March 14, 2026, and extend through May 3

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks announced that the 2026 spring wild turkey season will begin on March 14 and run through May 3.

Under Mississippi law, if the season ends on a Friday, it extends until 30 minutes after sunset on the following Sunday. This extension applies only to 2026 and does not affect the annual bag limit, according to the department.
