Mississippi Wildlife Officers Provide Support During Ice Storm
Law enforcement officers from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks are actively supporting North Mississippi communities during ongoing ice storm response efforts. About 40 officers are working 12-hour shifts to ensure 24-hour coverage.
Officers are assisting local authorities with patrols, welfare checks, and security at warming and supply shelters. They also support other critical response operations as weather conditions evolve, according to department officials.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and to helping communities navigate the severe weather event.
