Mississippi Youth Waterfowl Camp Teaches Conservation and Hunting Skills
Ten campers attended the 2026 Youth Waterfowl Camp organized by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. The event focused on hunter safety, conservation, habitat management, marksmanship, waterfowl identification, retriever training, and wild game processing.
Throughout the weekend, participants achieved a total of 55 harvests. Some campers hunted for the first time, and several harvested their first wild game of any kind, officials said.
The camp was held in partnership with Ducks Unlimited, which helps promote hunting heritage and conservation efforts in the region, according to MDWFP.
