National Weather Service Issues Cold Weather Alerts for Memphis Area

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued multiple cold weather alerts ahead of a cold weekend. An Extreme Cold Warning will begin at 9 p.m. Friday and end at 9 a.m. Saturday, according to NWS officials.

Following the warning, the affected area will be under a Cold Weather Advisory until noon Sunday. The alerts aim to warn residents of dangerously low temperatures and advise precautions to prevent cold-related health issues.

The weather service encourages residents to stay indoors when possible, dress warmly, and take steps to protect pets and vulnerable populations from the cold. Forecasters continue to monitor the weather and will provide updates as necessary.
