Northeast Winter Guard wins season opener at Mississippi Indoor Association event

The Northeast Winter Guard claimed first place at the Mississippi Indoor Association’s Neshoba Central show on Saturday, marking a strong start to the 2026 season. The team competed in the Independent A category and scored 59.830 points, more than 4.5 points ahead of other community colleges in the contest.

The guard’s performance nearly broke the 60-point mark in their season debut, according to sources familiar with the event. The group is directed by Dr. Amy Langley.

Officials praised the talented team for their impressive achievement and said they are excited to see their continued progress this season. A video of their award-winning routine is available on YouTube, showcasing their performance to a wider audience.
